Driving Community Care: Mobile Health in Action

Health Care Symposium 2025
Thursday, April 24, 2025

Virginia Garcia’s 2025 virtual Health Care Symposium will focus on the crucial role of mobile health, in the form of street medicine, mobile teams, and mobile clinics, in advancing health equity, building trust, and meeting patients and community members where they are. Mobile health, through its innovative approach of bringing care directly to underserved communities, has become a powerful tool in addressing barriers such as geographic isolation, lack of transportation, and limited access to health care facilities.

We will explore how different mobile health initiatives are helping to bridge critical gaps in health care access, especially for underserved and vulnerable populations. By providing on-the-ground care in communities where people live, work, and gather, these mobile services offer immediate and responsive care, often preventing the need for emergency interventions and reducing the strain on traditional health care infrastructure.
